Crockpot Baked Apples

Put them in the slow cooker in the morning and dessert will be ready in the evening! I made just two but the recipe can easily be increased.
Instead of cooking the apples in water, I used apple cider for added flavor and then served the cooked apples with the juice.

Crockpot Baked Apples
2 baking apple
3 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
2 ti 3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons softened butter
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
About 1/4 apple cider (or water could be used)
  1. Cut off tops of apples.
  2. Core the apple to remove seeds, then core out additional apple to create a large hole; reserve extra apple and chop to add to filling.
  3. Mix together oats, brown sugar, butter, spices and chopped apples.
  4. Pack filling into apple cavity.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup apple cider into slow cooker.
  6. Carefully add apples.
  7. Turn on slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours until apples are tender when poked with a fork. Or, cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours.
Serve as is or with ice cream or whipped cream.

    Or, try Blooming' Baked Apples.
